#93 G.O.A.Ts

There is a quote that says… “When our hearts are filled with security and trust in a dad who is present and loves us, we transition from living for our father’s approval, and begin to live from his approval.”

I have a father and I have a dad.

One is biological and the other is the active person who I call the name.  

Both in their own way, like every parent, showed me how to and how not to do things and so in my younger days, I carried a heavy burden of resentment, confusion, fear, and sadness.  When I became a man, my heart was able to open and see a different point of view; giving me empathy and compassion for their own emotions of resentment, confusion, fear and sadness they too had to navigate, younger than I and with fewer resources.

With love for them, I wish their fathers or lack thereof, would have shown them how to take me to the professional ballgame(s) to see the G.O.A.T. of their era…

To everyone, he’s 7x Super Bowl Champion, 3x NFL MVP Tom Brady. To me… he played long enough so I could take my son to watch him… the G.O.A.T of my era… 

Later that evening after many texts and phone calls I realized as a DAD… 

I have become what I did not have.
