Worth mentioning now; a note written to me that I shared with a friend ten plus years ago…
Remember the words of Dag Hammarskjold (former UN Ambassador), “Life yields only to the conqueror. Never accept what can be gained by giving in. You will be living off stolen goods, and your muscles will atrophy.”
And so, “Never measure the height of a mountain until you have reached the top. Then you will see how low it was.”
So live your life according to your principles; do not let events or others cause you to adjust simply to get along. You are young, strong, intelligent; not having tied your life to one course.
What we pursue is love; to find that one thing that identifies us and allows us to love it, whether it be the people in our lives, our jobs, our children, our interests.
To love what we do is to define success, not how much we make or the accolades we receive. For to anchor oneself in mediocrity and constantly seek enjoyment in life, reeks of futility.
But when we carve out our niche and discover that it gives us love; that we enjoy waking up and looking forward to it each day, then we have discovered success.
It’s your life – LIVE it while you’re alive.
